Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026 · Effective: July 17, 2026
Sharpedgy is a sports analytics and paper-betting platform. This policy describes what we collect, why, and what control you have over it. We aim to collect only what the Service needs to work — and to be plain about the rest.
1Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Sharpedgy collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of the Sharpedgy website and applications (the "Service").

We collect the minimum we need to run the Service: an account so you can log in, payment details handled by our processor so you can subscribe, and usage data so the product works and improves. We do not sell your personal information.

2Information We Collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your email address and a display name or username. If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google, we receive your email address, name, and profile image from that provider. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Authentication data. We use Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in. This includes a unique user identifier, sign-in method, and session timestamps.

Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full payment card number. Stripe provides us with a customer identifier, subscription status, and limited billing metadata (such as the last four digits and card brand) needed to display and manage your subscription.

Product activity. The picks you make, your contest entries and results, dashboard preferences, and the leagues or teams you follow.

Device and notification data. If you enable notifications, we store a device token so we can deliver them. You can revoke this at any time.

Support communications. If you contact support, we retain the ticket, its messages, and any information you choose to include.

Technical and usage data. IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and general interaction data, collected automatically when you use the Service.

3How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and maintain your account and authenticate your sessions
  • Provide the Service — including your dashboard, picks, insights, and contest participation
  • Process subscriptions, billing, and renewals through our payment processor
  • Deliver notifications you have opted into
  • Respond to support requests
  • Monitor, secure, debug, and improve the Service
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

5How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

Service providers. We use third parties to operate the Service, and they receive only what they need to perform their function:

  • Google Firebase — authentication and push notification delivery
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing
  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers — to run and store the Service
  • Sports data providers — we receive data from them; they do not receive your personal information
  • Analytics providers — to understand aggregate product usage

Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Sharpedgy, our users, or the public.

Business transfers. If Sharpedgy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.

Contest winners. If you win a Monthly Contest prize, we may need to collect and share limited information with payment or tax authorities as required to issue the prize and meet reporting obligations.

6Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used.

Essential cookies are required for the Service to function — primarily maintaining your authenticated session. These cannot be disabled without breaking sign-in.

Analytics cookies help us understand aggregate usage patterns. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings or any cookie controls we provide.

7Data Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — including resolving disputes, meeting legal and tax obligations, and enforcing our agreements.

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it (for example, transaction records for tax and accounting purposes).

Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably identify you may be retained indefinitely.

8Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, authenticated access controls, and delegating payment card handling entirely to our PCI-compliant payment processor.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

9Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information
  • Portability — receive your information in a portable format
  • Objection / restriction — object to or ask us to restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny you service or charge you differently for exercising these rights

You can update your profile and notification preferences directly in your account settings, and cancel your subscription at any time. To make any other request, contact us through the support system in your account.

We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended) gives you the rights described in the section above, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing.

We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months.

We do not knowingly collect or sell the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

11Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under the applicable age, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us through support.

12International Data Transfers

Sharpedgy is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, including standard contractual clauses.

13Third-Party Links & Services

The Service may link to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This policy does not apply to them.

If you sign in using a third-party provider, or manage your subscription through our payment processor, your interactions with those services are governed by their own privacy policies.

14Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

15Contact Us

Questions, requests, or complaints about this Privacy Policy or your personal information can be sent through the support system in your account, or to the contact address published on the Service.

If you are in the EEA or UK and believe we have not resolved your concern, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
